    Eyelid Procedures

The blepharoplasty procedure is designed to improve the appearance of the eyes by removing excess skin and/or fat from the upper and/or lower eyelids, making the skin less wrinkled, folded and puffy.

When performed on the upper lid, blepharoplasty helps to produce a more wide-awake look, while the removal of excess fatty tissue and wrinkled skin from the lower eyelid has a rejuvenating effect on the face, eliminating or reducing that ‘tired’ look.

    Why the intervention?

Blepharoplasty is best suited to clients in their middle years who experience either upper lid laxity or lower lid eyebags or a combination of the two.

    Techniques

The upper lid incision is usually made in the upper eyelid crease where the eyelid folds naturally when you open your eyes. It should therefore be almost imperceptible when it heals.

The incision in the lower lid is made just below the eyelashes, extending into the fine wrinkling or ‘crow feet’ at the outer edge of the eye.

    Anesthesia

Blepharoplasty can be performed by general anesthetic, but predominately by local anesthesia with sedation.

    The Procedure

The intervention time is about one to two hours, varying slightly regarding the procedure.

    Recovery

Most clients can resume to normal activities after two or three days. The surgeon will recommend avoiding activities that require physical or strenuous activity during the first week after the procedure. Also, is not advisable to have sun exposure in the first postoperative month.

    What about the scars?

The sutures are positioned in the eyelid crease of the upper lid and the lash line of the lower lid so that they practically imperceptible.

    Results

The results of the procedure are immediately evident, within two weeks of the procedure you will be able to wear eye make-up and again and feel confident in public.

    The first consultation

With Beauty Renaissance the first consultation is free of charge and is always with your surgeon who will assess and discuss your desired results.

The surgeon will also answer all your questions and discuss the expectations that the client may have regarding the procedure. Therefore, the surgeon will recommend the best solution for the procedure.

    Follow up

Here at Beauty Renaissance we uphold the highest degree of post operative quality care that goes beyond monitoring. For that reason detailed postoperative controls are made so that the patient feels safe and secure. There are a number of consultations to check that the healing process is without trauma.

The first postoperative consultation is made the following day and the recovery process is followed in detail. The definitive discharge date does not occur until a year after the procedure.
