    Am I a good candidate for Botox®?

    Facial wrinkles appear as a result of the age, sun damage and tobacco smoking among other factors. There are also types of wrinkles called “expression wrinkles" that appear by the repeated contraction of mimic muscles of the face.

    BOTOX® (type A botulinic toxin), is locally injected, relaxes these muscles selectively, contributing to eliminate the wrinkle. These injections are easily done by an experienced doctor and do not require anesthesia.

    No visible effects are noticed after the injections, and the client can continue with their social life. BOTOX® creates muscle relaxation that guarantees a very natural result on expression wrinkles.

    What is an expression wrinkle?

    The wrinkles of the upper half of the face are caused by the interaction between the skin and underlying muscles. They appear whenever we laugh, show anger or raise the eyebrows.



    What is Botox®?

    BOTOX ® (type A botulinic Toxin) is a drug produced by the bacterium that produces the botulism.
    BOTOX ® does not contain the bacterium, but ONLY the toxin.

    How does it work?

    The toxin blocks the neuromuscular plate (unions between nerve and muscle that allows the muscular contraction).

    Blocking these unions causes the muscle to relax, reducing its contraction capacity.

    By carefully choosing the muscles to treat, the physician weakens only the wrinkle-producing muscles while preserving natural facial expression.

    Results
